Poster Presentations

I presented this poster based on my literature review research for my dissertation topic at the NACADA Region 4 Conference on March 13, 2018, at Mobile, AL.

The theme of the conference was "Unmasking Student Potential" playing on the location of Mobile, AL, the first city to host Mardi Gras.  My poster bring awareness to the uniqueness of nontraditional undergraduates in their needs for support and advisement, and offered some best advising practices I have encountered in my research.

The Freshman ePortfolio Poster.jpg

I presented this poster based on my experience teaching ePortfolios to my freshman learning community course at the Conversations in Celebration of Teaching poster event at Auburn University on January 25, 2019.

My poster shows examples of my students' final ePortfolios that they turned in at the end of the semester, used with their permission.  It also walks the reader through the aim of the course, the assignment structure, the grading rubric, the connection to the university, the assignment itself, and the student learning outcomes for the assignment.

I presented this poster on my Paperless Advising Records System at the NACADA Region 4 Conference on March 12, 2018 at Pine Mountain, GA.

The theme of the conference was "Bloom Your Best Student" playing on the location of Callaway Gardens, which is famous for its extensive garden grounds and butterfly conservatory.  My poster integrated the theme of "going green" and preventing paper waste by using an electronic student filing system.  This system was developed in my first year of advising in order to revamp the system of Electrical and Computer Engineering following the retirement of the previous advisor after 25 years.  This system*, which integrates the new advising softwares Auburn University had recently adapted such as DegreeWorks and SSC-Campus by EAB, utilizes an eSignature pad to add a layer of accountability on the student's part.

*In line with the Strategic Plan and paperless records keeping also developed by Dr. Janet Moore and Candace Vann of Engineering Student Services
