I grew up in Eufaula, Alabama, for most of my childhood and began horseback riding lessons there at the age of nine. Before then I had been riding my cousin's pony when we visited a few times a year for as long as I can remember.  Animals and animal welfare are passions of mine and I am involved with our local humane society as a member and volunteer.

I moved to Auburn, AL in the fall of 1999 for college and just never really left.  I love the small town feel while being big enough to have lots to do.  However, during the summers of my undergraduate years I lived in Honesdale, PA, where I ran the horseback riding program for one of the top three girls camps in the nation, Lake Bryn Mawr Camp.  I taught lessons, managed a staff of seven, a barn of 17 horses, and ran over 1200 lessons for 138 riders of all levels from the ages of 6-15 years old.

In spring of 2016 I was lucky enough to move to a property on the outskirts of Auburn that has room for my horses to live with me instead of being at a boarding facility.  This has been a lifelong dream of mine and it has finally come true!  It is truly a blessing to be able to wake up and look out the window to see my beautiful "ponies" grazing in the pasture.  I am grateful that I get to see them throughout the day now, and I don't have to worry as much about them being sick or injured and not discovering it until they have suffered for hours until I could get out to the barn.  Now I am greeted by nickers and neighs every time I step out of my door, and the horse-crazy 12 year old inside of me jumps for joy.

I enjoy spending time with my husband, Scott, and our furry kids -  the late Belmont (Weimaraner), Emma (Westie), Freya (Lab/GSD cross), Marshall (Black Domestic Shorthair), Merlyn (Tuxedo Domestic Shorthair), Saxon (Off-the-track Thoroughbred), Ean (Clydesdale/Thoroughbred Cross), and ever changing number of chickens.  Scott and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary in May 2016 with a vow renewal and week vacation in Jamaica where I was able to mark "beach ride" off of my bucket list! We even got to swim the horses in the Caribbean Sea off the beach where Christopher Columbus was shipwrecked for a year.  I also enjoy going on adventures with my husband, tailgating for Auburn football games, cooking and grilling out with friends, practicing yoga, reading, and watching movies.
